Choir
The Foundation Academy Upper School Choir Program is designed to come along students and help them explore choral music through study and performance. As we learn from King David in the Book of Psalms, the study of music and lifting song up to the Lord provides sensory, mental, emotional, and social experiences beneficial to any who take part. It is the goal of this program to provide a safe, Christian environment for students to use their talents to glorify God.
6th Grade Choir
Exciting NEW 6th Grade Choir Opportunity! This year, students may opt to do the “wheel” AND participate in choir. Choir students have been approved to be pulled from their elective twice a week to rehearse. Students will learn vocal technique, a variety of musical genres, sight singing, and more!
Plant St. Choir (4-6)
Our degreed music specialists are passionate about engaging students while teaching them a comprehensive understanding of music. FA students learn how to read music, which is accomplished in creative ways that include singing, music theory, rhythms, choir, and musical productions. Elective singing classes are available to our older students offering even more in-depth experience with singing, percussion, performance, etc. Students also learn how to apply music reading skills to “pre-band” instruments in earlier grades.
Tilden Choir (7-12)
Our award-winning Tilden Campus Choir has performed all over the Central Florida area bringing their artistry and passion to the community. From National Prayer Day events to the Winter Garden Christmas celebration our choir has helped bring the joy of music and song to many people.
We have had members of our choir recognized at the all-state level as well as have our entire choir perform at the famed Carnegie Hall. For the holidays our students have performed on local television.
Our choir program is centered on taking individuals who are driven to improve their musical skills and put them with others in an environment thats fosters learning, growth and as sense of team.
Choir Opportunities
Tri-M Music Honor Society
This National Association for Music Education (NAfME) program recognizes students for their academic and musical achievements, rewards them for their accomplishments and service activities, and inspires other students to excel at music and leadership.
ACSI Choral Competition
The ACSI Choral Competition is an opportunity for the choir students to show off how hard they work each year. Performing for a select group of judges, the students receive a level of Superior, Excellent, or Good.
Treblemakers
The “Treblemakers” is a choral group of 4th through 6th grade students who meet twice a week outside the normal school day. These dedicated students work hard to not only improve their vocal skills, but also learn more about music theory, reading music, sight singing, and part singing.

Aural Interval Recognition
Aural Interval Recognition
Ear training is also an essential part of the student’s training. Aural interval recognition is integrated with visual recognition of music notation. It is our goal for all students to become musically literate.
